An Introduction of Myself

Brief Intro

  • Hi, I am Yufei Zhao @Macintosh-Yufei-Zhao
  • I am an undergraduate student from Yuanpei College, Peking University.
  • I currently major in the Integrated Science Program. The program focuses on biophysics research.
  • I am looking to collaborate on fellows in the disciplines of systems biology, bioinformatics, synthetic biology, dynamic and statistic biological models and (maybe) oncology.
  • Recently I’m really fascinated by complex system theory & emergence and welcome to join me.
  • Well, I am an ENTP-A debater, so I am happy to hear from you and (if possible) debate with you!
  • As a enthusiastic representative, I commit myself to undergrad freshman recruiting of PKU. Now I am the student leader of my district. I am really glad to share my experiences and stories to anyone who needs them.

Research Interests

  • Network Science and Biological Networks: I am curious about how biological networks function properly through specific topology, and how these topology evolved. I am determined to find a way to analyze the biological network with more direct or simple methods, and work on the non-linear properties of biological networks.
    • My undergraduate research focuses on the network behind the circadian clock.
  • Complex Systems, Chaos and Emergence: It is my belief that emergence is the future of life sciences. The fact that intelligence, self-organization and other complicated behaviours emerge when system size grows to a certain threshold is so fascinating and the mechanism behind each individual is so simple that I want to find more about it.
  • Deep Learning, LLM and Neuron Networks: Although I am not majoring in AI, the development of AI will definitely affect everything. I want to know how AI models make ‘decisions’, think ‘logically’ and ‘evolve’ with training. Also, this is without doubt an example of emergence.
